How Great Thou Art | Garett & Kate

When I looked at what God has done for me and how He saved me from the shackles of the devil, I wonder how great thou art.

God is marvelous and powerful is His ways and how He changes lives, especially those that belived in Him.

Let me share this short story behind this song;.This song was written 1885 by Carl Boberg.  He lived in the small village Mönsterås in Sweden. He was a school teacher in the small village Mönsterås.

But at the same time he was also a preacher and a cantor in the church of Mönsterås. He was also a member in the parliament in Sweden. He was an amazing man.

How great thou art is a song called “O store Gud” in Swedish language. Carl Boberg wrote the text after witnessing a thunder storm near Kalmarsund in Sweden.

This song comes from old Swedish folk music. In addition, Carl Boberg was born in the small village Mönsterås on 16th of August 1859 and he passed away on 7th of January 1940 in the town of Kalmar. May God save his soul, AMEN!!!

However, “How Great Thou Art” is a wonderful gospel released in the year 2024 by Garett & Kate.

Lyrics:

[Verse 1]

Oh, Lord, my God, when I in awesome wonder

Consider all the worlds Thy hands have made

I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder

Thy power throughout the universe displayed

[Chorus]

Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee

How great Thou art, how great Thou art

Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee

How great Thou art, how great Thou art

[Verse 2]

When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation

And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart

Then I shall bow, in humble adoration

And then proclaim, “My God, how great Thou art!”

[Chorus]

Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee

How great Thou art, how great Thou art

Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee

How great Thou art, how great Thou art

[Outro]

(How great Thou art)
