Lucky Dube - The hand that giveth

I was trained to know that that “Givers never lack.” My mother practised this and she has been encouraging my to especially to those in need of such assistance.

Since then, I took it upon me to share and spread love to the less privilaged ones and those in need of my goodwill. And that is the message of this very song, to give and be rewarded by God almighty in return.

“The hand that giveth” is a wonderful song by late South African sensational reggae singer, music producer and songwriter, Lucky Dube.

This very inspirational song was released in the year 1987 from the album “Slave” by Lucky Philip Dube. Like mentioned above, he was a South African reggae musician and Rastafarian.

Lyrics:

What type of rich man are you

Who doesn’t care about the poor people?

What type of rich man are you

Who doesn’t care about the helpless people?

What type of rich man are you

Who doesn’t care about the poor people?

What type of rich man are you

Who doesn’t care about the helpless people?

There you read it in the Bible

But don’t understand what it says

It says blessed is the hand that giveth

Than the one that taketh

Blessed is the hand that giveth

Than the one that taketh

Blessed is the hand that giveth

Than the one that taketh

Does it make you feel happy

When you see another man starving?

Does it make you feel happy

When you see another man with no food?

Does it make you feel great, maybe?

To see another man, without a thing

You read about it in the Bible

But didn’t understand it

Blessed is the hand that giveth

Than the one that taketh

Blessed is the hand that giveth

Than the one that taketh

Blessed is the hand that giveth

Than the one that taketh

Blessed is the hand that giveth

Than the one that taketh

Blessed is the hand that giveth

Than the one that taketh

Blessed is the hand that giveth

Than the one that taketh

Blessed is the hand that giveth

Than the one that taketh

Blessed is the hand that giveth

Than the one that taketh..
